IDENTIFYING YOUR CHILD'S STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES
by Shirley Sliter

Parents can help their children recognize their own strengths and understand their weaknesses. Doing both of these can help build self confidence. They are based on how a child feels about himself as a result of what other people have told him.
The things other people say about us can be very powerful messages. If someone says something negative, it may affect us for a long time. Parent attitudes are the most important factor of how children feel about themselves. Please take the time to show your confidence in your child and his/her abilities.
Children's feelings about themselves are influenced by
--Their own self awareness
--Their parents
--Other family members
--Other adults
--Their friends
Thanks for the interest that you show in your child everyday!
